Project Outpour operates a mobile shower trailer to offer showers and hygiene services to men and women moving through homelessness. We use a Dodge Ram 1500 to pull the trailer to our scheduled locations each week. The trailer is 18 feet long and hooks up like an RV to water, sewer, and electricity. We are looking for a driver or pair/team to either fill in on specific dates or to cover regular shifts. Shifts involve picking up the trailer at it's parking spot, bringing it to the assigned location, setting it up - with help of other volunteers, operating it for shower service, and bringing it back to its parking spot at the end of the shift. Shower hours are 10:30-1:00, so the shift will run from approximately 9:00 pick up to 2:00 drop off. On Thursdays, showers are offered at the same location the trailer is parked, so it does not need to go far and doesn't take as long as the other days. No special drivers license is required, but prior experience pulling a trailer, RV, or boat is helpful. A clean driving record is required.

About Project Outpour

Location:

1800 Camden Rd., Suite 1047-143, CHARLOTTE, NC 28203, US

Mission Statement

Project Outpour's mission is to provide shower access to persons moving through homelessness, alleviating suffering and promoting holistic health and dignity.

Description

We bring our mobile shower trailer to specific, scheduled locations and provide shower service. We got our start in 2018 when our founder was inspired by speaking to a man moving through homelessness who had not had access to a shower in over 2 weeks. Our goal is to provide services several days per week, and in or der to do that, we need at least 2 volunteers per shift to help guests, clean the shower units, and visit with our neighbors coming to receive services.
