Duties include checking guests in (explaining how service works), gathering the supplies that each guest requests for use in the shower, and keeping the shower schedule on track. Volunteers can also visit with guests as they wait for their turn. Additionally, volunteers help with setting up the service area before service starts and packing up the trailer after service finishes. Covid protocols include social distancing, working outdoors, sanitizing of showers between each guest, and sanitation of all "touch zones" throughout service hours. Project Outpour operates a mobile shower trailer to offer showers and hygiene services to men and women moving through homelessness. We use a Dodge Ram 1500 to pull the trailer to our scheduled locations each week. The trailer is 18 feet long and hooks up like an RV to water, sewer, and electricity. We are looking for a driver or pair/team to either fill in on specific dates or to cover regular shifts. Shifts involve picking up the trailer at it's parking spot, bringing it to the assigned location, setting it up - with help of other volunteers, operating it for shower service, and bringing it back to its parking spot at the end of the shift. Shower hours are 10:30-1:00, so the shift will run from approximately 9:00 pick up to 2:00 drop off. No special drivers license is required, but prior experience pulling a trailer, RV, or boat is helpful. A clean driving record is required.
