Healing TREE is currently seeking a Social Media Assistant. Duties include:

  • Making content suggestions (via Google Drive) for posting.
  • Researching and keeping up to date with the special days of each month (i.e. mental health awareness week) and planning accordingly (i.e. finding relevant articles to repost, quotes to share, etc.) as well as making content suggestions based on our overall mission and work.
  • Scheduling posts once content suggestions are approved and relevant images created (for instance, you suggest a quote that is approved and created into an image by our team and then you use Later to schedule the post in advance.)
- This position would work alongside our Social Media Content Creation volunteer who would create the majority of our unique images. However, experience with design so that you could fill in / create additional content during busy times such as our annual Gala is highly preferred (we use Canva to make our graphics).

- Experience with MailChimp and willingness to assist with email blasts (about 15 emails a year) is also highly preferred.

- Willingness to do research to find appropriate content is key (we will share basic training resources and provide trauma experts' names, etc. to go off of). Knowledge about / interest in healing trauma will make for the best fit.

Actively seeking BIPOC and queer candidates.

About Healing TREE

Location:

1178 Broadway, 3rd Floor #1380, New York, NY 10001, US

Mission Statement

OUR MISSION: Healing TREE (Trauma Resources, Education & Entertainment) advocates healing from abuse & trauma rather than coping with the symptoms, in order to transform lives &, ultimately, society. We achieve this by providing trauma-focused resources & education & by producing & partnering with relevant film, television, & theatre, empowering the social change necessary to create a healing movement. THE ISSUE: Leading studies show that trauma (both interpersonal and systemic) is a public health crisis & the root cause of many of society's toughest problems: mental & physical illness, addiction, crime, domestic violence, homelessness & suicide. Effective treatments are available but there is a lack of integration between the trauma, mental health & med. fields & of general awareness on the issue. We exist to change that so that healing from trauma becomes the new normal. LOCATION: National organization - team members serve virtually!
