Virtual Mentor

Responsibilities :

• Conduct 1:1 mentoring sessions at least once a week as scheduled.
• Create individualized goals plans and provide direction and support to youth around the completion of those goals.
• Remain committed and loyal to mentor match relationships [be committed as a mentor]
• Encourage students to become more engaged in school by providing evidence-based emotional support for those who exhibit one or more of the "early warning" indicators; low attendance, poor behavior, and below average course performance.
• Provide youth with activities/projects that will increase youth engagement in education, employment, community service as well as improve their overall social and emotional skills.
• Attend monthly mentor meet ups.
• Maintain positive communication with school administration and staff, and report progress with the mentee to supervisor weekly and as needed.
• Maintain consistent communication with mentee’s family members and provide them with feedback on their child’s progress.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of mentoring experience or 1 year of experience working with youth is preferred.
• Must have an interest or passion in working with youth and/or adolescents in need of mentorship.
• Must possess excellent communication, planning, organizing, and active listening skills.
• Must have the ability to see solutions and opportunities, and the ability to set and maintain boundaries.

Location: Remotely/Virtually from anywhere

Hours and commitment: 1 to 1.5 hours per week
