Be a Good Samaritan to help a neighbor

In Jesus' parable, the Good Samaritan took a man in distress to an inn to get the help he needed after others had passed by.

Jesus was answering the question "And who is my neighbor?" after He gave His Greatest Commandment, with its second part to "Love your neighbor as yourself,"

Here’s a way to be a Good Samaritan in today’s world.

A person in distress might be a victim of violence, as in the parable, or in a shelter, or homeless, in recovery, a re-entrant, a veteran, be unemployed or underemployed, be seeking a career change, want to change their life, or seek to advance as a disciple.

You can offer to help any person in need, any "neighbor" to make use of resources that are available to change their life. Some of the free resources are guides to 30 Actions-To-Change-Your-Life found at the website https://www.worknlearn.us/ .

There are several ways you can help a neighbor "take" these Actions-To-Change-Your-Life .

1. Just go on the website worknlearn.us and use it.
2. Email worknlearninc@gmail.com to let us know you are interested. Tell us your interests and qualifications.
3. Have the person in need, or help that neighbor, send similar information.
4. Become familiar with the Actions and what they accomplish at worknlearn.us .
5. Discuss the Actions and their benefits with the neighbor.
6. Encourage and help the neighbor take the Actions.
7. Request help from a volunteer career coach, specialist or Christian mentor.
8. Show or send the neighbor the Know-How to Change-Your-Life Course Workbook. Participants say it is extremely helpful by itself.
9. Follow up with the "neighbor" on a regular basis.

Your role is essential.

The Actions and ministry enable him or her to experience the power of Jesus to transform their life.
