VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

F.R.I.E.N.D.S. - Families, Respect, Inspire, Educate, Networking, Down syndrome, Special needs is a 501c3 Non-profit that provides new parents and family support, special needs resources and education, and fun events and activities for our Down syndrome and Special needs community.

FRIENDS and the (NDSS) National Down Syndrome Society invite you to participate in our annual 7th FRIENDS BUDDY WALK. Join us as we Advocate, Celebrate, and "FUN" raise for our Down Syndrome & Special Needs community! Please help us raise the necessary funds for our 2024 year-round programs, events, and activities.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We need at least 100 volunteers, ages 14yrs and older, consisting of Students, Adults, and Retirees, to help with Registration, Selling Raffles & 50/50, Distributing the T-shirts, Serving Food, Monitoring Bouncy Houses, and more. PLEASE FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

1. PLEASE REGISTER ON THE BUDDY WALK WEBSITE (ABOVE).

1. VOLUNTEERS WILL RECEIVE:

• ONE RED BUDDY WALK VOLUNTEER T-SHIRT
• BUDDY WALK WRISTBAND
• FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH WITH WATER AND SODA
• STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE CREDIT FOR 8 SERVICE HOURS - PLEASE SEND A PROFFERFISH A REQUEST TO RECIEVE CREDIT.

1. ATTEND ZOOM MEETING - Attend a pre-Buddy Walk Zoom meeting. Please attend the following ZOOM meeting, Thursday, October 19th at 7pm. https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81251725454?pwd=dDRBamhVcWVUVEU5YnExYk9NaGM5QT09

1. ARRIVE ON TIME - SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21 ST, AL Lopez Park - 4810 N Himes Ave, Tampa, FL 33614. SHELTER #310.

VOLUNTEER TABLE - Check-in at 8:30am at Shelter #310.

• You will be buddied up with another volunteer and given your assignment.
• Once you have checked in, go help put up tents, tables, and chairs.
• Go to the Food court and grab some breakfast.
• Report to your assigned workstation and make sure you know who your Buddy volunteer is.

• You and your buddy volunteer will cover for each other when you take a lunch and 15min break.
• Please take pictures and post them to our Facebook page to our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/FRIENDSWESTFLORIDA
• All Volunteers will be needed to stay and help load the truck up at the end of the event.

1. STUDENTS WILL NEED TO REGISTER ON PROFFERFISH TO RECIEVE CREDIT FOR THE HOURS VOLUNTEERED. IT IS UP TO THE STUDENT TO REGISTER AND REPORT THE HOURS.
