VTN (Volunteer Transportation Network) Volunteer drivers provide transportation for Veterans located within the Hibbing/Virginia area to and from the Minneapolis VA Medical Center for their appointments. Drivers use a DAV supplied van to transport our Veterans to Minneapolis, start their day at pick up points in Hibbing at 6:00am, Virginia at 6:30am and end their day back at pick up points in Hibbing/Virginia. Shifts are Monday through Friday on EVEN days.

VHA Directive 1193 and VA Handbook 5019 requires that Volunteers in this role have a documented COVID-19 vaccine and Flu vaccine.


Volunteer drivers must:
Pass a basic physical exam at Minneapolis VA Medical Center - Occupational Health.
Provide, and maintain, a copy of their safe driving record.
Provide proof of personal automobile insurance.
Consent to fingerprinting and successfully pass background check.
Complete initial and annual training for Volunteer Drivers with Minneapolis VA Health Care System.
