Are you interested in an internship or volunteering to help make a difference in your community?

The Crisis Clinic of Thurston and Mason Counties is currently recruiting individuals to answer our phone lines. As a Volunteer Crisis Advocate, you will be trained and prepared to provide confidential, anonymous, and immediate services to Thurston and Mason County residents.

We need your help to maintain coverage of our crisis lines 24 hours a day so if you are interested in a position that is available around the clock, send us your application today! Over 11,000 calls are received annually, so we are constantly seeking out compassionate, empathetic individuals to join our team.

We have other volunteer positions available that do not include answering crisis calls. Give us a call and find out more about spending your time with us.

*All participants must be at least 15 years of age and commit to one 4-hour shift per week upon completion of our training program for a total of 200 hours.

We provide compassionate support and resources to empower those in crisis every hour of every day.

Description

The Crisis Clinic provides a 24-hour centralized service to anyone who calls, offering crisis intervention and emotional support, as well as information and referral to appropriate resources using our database of community referrals. Since 1972, the Crisis Clinic has been there for people in need. Seven days a week, 365 days a year, there's always someone who cares. That person could be you.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 15
  • Orientation or Training
  • 4 hours per week AFTER training. We ask that you volunteer a minimum of 200 hours after completing the training.
  • Must be willing to do overnight shifts roughly once a month (12AM-8AM)
