Volunteer United/AmeriCorps Seniors is a program of United Way that recruits volunteers for non-profit agencies in Martin County.

The mission of the organization where this opportunity is located is to improve the quality of life, preserve natural resources and, satisfy the community needs for recreation, fitness and leisure.

Volunteers are needed to assist with the 31st Annual Senior games taking place October 23-31st. The Martin County Senior Games is an annual sporting event open to persons ages 50 and up. Participants get a chance to compete in 13 different sporting events in five-year age increment brackets. The sports events take place at various locationis in Martin and St. Lucie counties but are open to participants form all over Florida.

The Senior Games reflects Martin County's goal to provide quality recreational opportunities for all ages. The event promotes physical and social wellness and encourages the senior community to get active and stay fit for life.

The Senior Games also serves as a sanctioned qualifier for the Florida Senior Games State Championships. Athletes that finish in the top 4 of their age group are eligible to enter the state championships. Events include pickleball, tennis, swimming, table tennis, basketball shooting, bowling, cycling, track & Field and golf.

Volunteer positions available: Registration, keeping score, swimming timers, vendor booth attendants, set up and breakdown within each sport.

Locations will vary according to event.

Must be responsible, reliable, wear closed toes shoes, provide excellent customer service regarding the event, and assist with set up and tear down of event. Also able to lift 25 lbs and able to stand for 5 hours. Background check required. Must be 18+
