What:
Catholic Charities Food for Seniors program is in need of volunteers to assist in packing boxes of non-perishable foods for distribution at a later date to income-eligible senior citizens in our community.
Volunteers will be helping to pack food boxes, make boxes and move and stack boxes. Volunteers should be ready to stand, move and lift throughout their shift. Please sign up for shifts at ccano.volunteerhub.com Please note: This opportunity is in a working warehouse that it not air conditioned, but is cooled via large industrial fans.
Where/When:
This opportunity occurs every 3rd Saturday of the month. Other dates are available upon approval. Shifts are either in the morning or afternoon: 9 a.m.-noon or noon-3 p.m. The warehouse is located at 7649 Townsend Pl., N.O., LA. 70126 in New Orleans East.
More Details:
Volunteers age 14+ are welcome. Volunteers age 10 - 13 are welcome with a parent.
Groups are also welcome!

Description
Since 1938 Catholic Charities has been offering life-giving programs, advocating for the voiceless and empowering the most vulnerable to foster a more just society. Catholic Charities has over 22 programs and twoaffiliated ministries in the eight civil parishes of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. Our programs engage and serve members of the community from pre-birth to the elderly but all of them fall under one of the following areas:
- children and families
- domestic violence
- education and young adults
- food and nutrition
- housing and homelessness
- disaster recovery
- immigration/refugee resettlement
- justice and employment
- physical and mental health
- pro-life services
- senior services
