COVID-19 has impacted many small businesses. Having a clear and strong brand identity is key for them to increase their sales and digital presence. But many entrepreneurs, especially those who just started their business, do not always know how to develop a brand identity for their business.

That’s where you come in! Our brand identity bootcamp is the perfect opportunity if you are looking to volunteer your time and talent and teach small business owners about branding.

  • Are you a good fit? This virtual volunteer opportunity is for you if you have at least 3 years of professional experience in marketing and branding, and are comfortable teaching this topic to a small group of entrepreneurs (via Zoom). Volunteers must be located in the United States.
  • What will you be doing? During this virtual bootcamp, you will connect live with a small group of entrepreneurs and provide hands-on training or in-depth guidance on how to develop a brand identity for their business (colors, fonts, brand voice, etc.).
  • What is the time commitment? This is a flexible volunteer opportunity. Time commitment is typically 2-4 hours (1-2 hours of preparation and 1-2 hours of live bootcamp). This can be a one-time opportunity or ongoing if you are interested in teaching multiple bootcamps!
  • Do you provide resources? We provide orientation and resources to help getting you started and prepare for your bootcamp. We also coordinate all logistics leading up to the bootcamp.

Ready to volunteer & support small businesses? Join our awesome community of volunteers by completing and submitting your application here: https://www.startsmallthinkbig.org/volunteer
(select "Marketing & Sales program" and "Brand Identity Bootcamp" as the opportunity). We welcome multilingual volunteers, particularly those able to support Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs.

511 Avenue of the Americas, #4151, New York, NY 10011, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to help under-resourced entrepreneurs create thriving businesses in underserved areas so owners can build wealth for themselves, their families and their communities. We do this by activating a network of top-tier professional volunteers like you to deliver pro-bono legal, financial and marketing services, personally nurturing each business owner’s success.

Description

Start Small Think Big is a non-profit organization founded 11 years ago in New York City.

Over the past few years, we have successfully expanded our work to San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose. We are now in the midst of another period of rapid growth and expansion, as we work to replicate our model nationally and grow existing programs to serve larger numbers of entrepreneurs.

We work with entrepreneurs who are of color, women, members of under-resourced groups, and/or low-income - with business revenues under $1M. Services are delivered across three core programmatic areas: the legal program, the financial program, and the marketing program.
