The Opportunity: Having a clear and strong brand identity is key for entrepreneurs to increase their sales and digital presence. But many of them, especially those who just started their business, don’t always know how to develop a brand identity for their business. That’s where you come in! Our virtual brand identity bootcamp is the perfect opportunity if you are looking to volunteer your time and talent to support small businesses and the innovators behind them. Are you a good fit? You have at least 3 years of professional experience in marketing and branding, and are comfortable teaching this topic to a group of entrepreneurs (via Zoom). What will you be doing? During this virtual bootcamp, you will connect live with a group of entrepreneurs and provide hands-on training or in-depth guidance on how to develop a brand identity for their business (colors, fonts, brand voice, etc.). What is the time commitment? Typically 2-4 hours (1-2 hours of preparation and 1-2 hours of live session). Do you provide resources? We provide resources to get you started and prepare for the bootcamp. We also coordinate all logistics leading up to the session. Ready to use your skills for good? Virtual Opportunity
The Opportunity: Setting up financial systems, bookkeeping, and reading financial statements are essential for entrepreneurs but can be daunting and scary at first! That’s where you come in! Our virtual finance consultation is the perfect opportunity if you are looking to volunteer your time and talent to support small businesses and the innovators behind them. Are you a good fit? You have experience working with business finances in accounting, information systems (Point of Sale, bookkeeping, etc.), or managing your own business' finances. What will you be doing? Once approved as a volunteer, we will connect you with an entrepreneur or several (depending on your availability) to set up virtual 1hr consultations. During this time, you will teach them about systems and structures that can help them monitor and analyze their business - e.g., using bookkeeping systems and understanding P&Ls. What is the time commitment? 1-2 consultations with an entrepreneur, about 1 hour each, to fit into your schedule. Does Start Small Think Big provide resources to get started? However, many entrepreneurs don’t have the budget, time or skills needed to design a logo that reflects their brand’s identity. That’s where you come in! Our virtual logo design project is the perfect opportunity if you are looking to volunteer your time and talent to support small businesses and the innovators behind them. Are you a good fit? You have at least 3 years of professional experience in logo design and are located in the United States or in a country with overlapping timezones (e.g Canada, Mexico). What will you be doing? Once approved as a volunteer, you will have access to our opportunity list and logo design projects available. You will then connect one-on-one with an entrepreneur to scope out the project and deliverables, and ultimately design a logo for their business. What is the time commitment? Logo design projects typically last between 30 and 45 days, depending on your availability. This includes some preparation and design time (flexible to your schedule) and interactions with the entrepreneur (via email, phone or video conferencing). You have at least 3 years of professional experience in website design and familiarity with some popular platforms such as Squarespace, Wix, Shopify, Wordpress and GoDaddy. What will you be doing? Once approved as a volunteer, you will have access to our opportunity list with website design projects available. You will then connect one-on-one with an entrepreneur to scope out the project and deliverables, and ultimately assist them in creating or improving their website. What is the time commitment? Website design projects typically last between 30 and 45 days, depending on your availability.
