LifeSmart Education is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that enhances the availability of nontraditional educational classes and resources for underserved youth and communities. We help those who need unwavering, positive life management skills. Youth aren't born knowing the life skills that we wish they did; they must be taught and molded into productive members of society. At LifeSmart Education we teach youth how to be socially and emotionally successful and enable them to achieve their highest potential as law-abiding global citizens.

Role Description

We are seeking for a Grant Writer part-time that wants to help with the mission of a small nonprofit organization. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience in grant writing, is an articulate, self-motivated, proactive and organized. The role could lead to a p/t paid position based on grant funding.

Please note the first two weeks is a trial period to see if the role is a good fit for the volunteer.

Responsibilities

  • Research, identify, and apply for public and private grant opportunities that are applicable
  • Prepare first drafts of grant proposals and grant applications
  • Assist with other fundraising projects as needed

Qualifications

  • At least 1year of grant writing experience
  • Must have the ability to understand the grant writing possess
  • Available to volunteer 3 to 5 hours per week
  • Ability to understand and execute complex instructions
  • Excellent writing and grammar skills
  • Excellent research and proofreading skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or a related field and/or related experience (Preferred)
