Position Function & Organizational Impact:

• Increase public engagement with Best Friends throughout satellite locations

Time Commitment and Location of Work:

• Local to volunteer’s city or community (Waynesboro, PA)
• Flexible and based on volunteers’ availability with a preference to commit to 2-5 hours a week for a pre-set period of time

Goals:

• Recruit new volunteers with an emphasis on fostering opportunities
• Represent Best Friends in a positive manner
• Provide information about our mission and lifesaving work

Core responsibilities:

• Identify local marketing opportunities and partners
• Distribute provided materials to raise awareness about fostering
• Assist in planning and executing grassroots marketing initiatives within the local market to support foster goals, programs, local, and national events
• Identify opportunities for community outreach and participate in these opportunities to build foster message awareness (e., tabling at outdoor markets, fairs and events)
• Identify and cultivate local social media influencers and trends

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Familiarity with community, including local businesses and public events
• Experience in marketing, events, and/or promotions a plus
• Ability to travel to different areas of the city or community
• Commitment to the philosophy of Best Friends’ practices and policies
• Regular access to email to receive updates
• Strong interpersonal skills. The ideal person for this job would be a team player, personable, professional, and able to get along well with a variety of people
