This program is designed to provide the social and emotional needs of adults with early to mid-stage Alzheimer’s Disease or related dementia as well as providing respite for the caregiver. Volunteers are needed to assist with arts and crafts, singing, games, exercise and other socialization activities. Volunteer opportunities are Monday and Wednesday at the Central Community Center from 1:00pm to 3:30pm.

Pickens County Meals on Wheels exists to combat the effects of hunger, loneliness and isolation on those living in Pickens County, and to provide a lifeline through the use of caring volunteers.
Description
Pickens County Meals on Wheels delivers a hot, fresh noontime meal to our elderly neighbors who are struggling to maintain their independence. Meals are prepared at the McKissick Center for Senior Wellness, headquarters for Pickens County Meals on Wheels. Volunteers assist with the preparation of the meals as well as delivery. The meals are collected by volunteer drivers for immediate delivery to seniors who cannot provide a hot meal for themselves and are alone or isolated. Volunteer drivers run 22 routes throughout the county, Monday through Friday, that inclulde the Easley, Dacusville, Pickens, Six Mile, Norris, Central and Liberty areas.
In addition, Pickens County Meals on Wheels operates a senior activity center, Monday-Friday, from 8:30AM-2:30 PM. The center is located at the McKissick Center for Senior Wellness at 349 Edgemont Avenue, Liberty, SC. Volunteers assist with activities at the senior center.
Pickens County Meals on Wheels is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit, charitable organization funded completely by donations from churches, church organizations, individuals, civic groups, businesses, and United Way.
