VOLUNTEER FROM HOME: Create 4th of July greetings, decorations, or activities, for seniors and underserved community members through Hollywood Senior Center and the Giving Tree!
Bring holiday cheer and show your support to community members during this time of continued social distancing. Gestures like handwritten notes and well wishes show compassion and kindness and remind people that they are not alone. Please join us in creating or donating holiday cards, decorations, or activities with a festive and fun 4th of July theme!
This is a great at-home project for kids and families! All ages are welcome to participate, and no volunteer application is required. To Participate, write cards, create hand-made greetings, draw a picture, or make a 4th of July coloring sheet for others! All of these will add extra joy to someone’s holiday. Below please find a list of ideas to help you get started!
- Write a heartfelt letter or just send a note card to say happy 4th of July! (Please leave cards unsealed.)
- Create hand-made greetings, drawings, or decorations.
- Create blank coloring pages for others to color.
- Create a 4th of July-themed word search or crossword puzzle.
GET YOUR CREATION(S) TO HSC BY JUNE 22: Holiday greetings or activities can be mailed to Hollywood Senior Center at 1820 NE 40th Ave., Portland, OR 97212 or dropped off Tuesdays or Thursdays from 9am to 4pm, now through June 22nd. Please include a note with your name(s), an email and/or phone number, and the total number of cards or items. (Students wanting school credit, also include your total time spent volunteering, and contact the Volunteer Program Manager for documentation.)

Description
CFPA was founded as Hollywood Senior Center in 1973, a nonprofit committed to creating an uplifting and vibrant environment for adults 55 and older while providing a channel for intergenerational relationships and learning. In July 2021, HSC expanded by absorbing The Giving Tree, another not-for-profit organization, committed to providing residential services to people living in affordable housing, including access to culturally-specific food, throughout Portland; merger of these two organizations form CFPA.
