Work Location JAARS Waxhaw
FTE 0.500 This is a 20 hour per week position for a volunteer or a staff person who raises support.
Position Summary
The Commercial HVAC Technician will utilize their skills to support Bible translation via the installation, repair, maintenance and upgrading of the varied HVAC systems at the JAARS Center.
These services keep our staff in comfortable working conditions so that they can provide technical and logistical support. This helps make language development and Bible translation work possible in very remote locations.
Office, medical, childcare and housing facilities on the JAARS Center also allow missionaries to receive training, healthcare and spiritual renewal. Your services will greatly impact their stay here.
Position Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Respond to repair requests on various systems at JAARS
- Install or assist in the installation of new systems
- Assist facilities maintenance administration in making recommendations for equipment upgrades
Position Requirements
- A deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal spiritual growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth
- Embrace the vision, mission and core values of JAARS
- Experience in servicing commercial HVAC systems
- Certification in handling refrigerants, such as R-22, R-134a and R-410
- Two years of experience in general maintenance work

We are a community of full-time missionaries, dedicated volunteers, and a few employees who work together to accomplish the Great Commission goal of providing Scripture to every people group on earth in a language and form they clearly understand. We do that by supporting Bible translation and language development partners globally, and by working with prayer and financial partners in the United States to help make a range of unique on-the-field solutions possible.
