Safe Connections Resource Center provides basic survival aid and services for youth and young adults ages 16-24 who are homeless, or at-risk of becoming homeless. When you volunteer at Safe Connections you provide the resources and caring support these youth and young adults need to reach their goals. Our team of volunteers play an essential role in the day to day operations of the center as they welcome young people, provide one-on-one support, and lead enriching activities to encourage future success. The center serves as a safe, welcoming space for young people to access food, clothing, showers, laundry, computers with Wi-Fi, life skills education and referrals to supportive services. Purpose Youth who are transitioning into adulthood represent a growing percent of the homeless population and many are experiencing homelessness for the very first time. This age group is still developing and learning life skills for successful independence, leaving them vulnerable to crime and victimization. We provide basic survival aid to meet their essential needs and then focus on establishing a pathway for future success through life skills education and referrals to supportive services. Program overview

The resource center is open at least five days a week from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., giving young people the opportunity to drop in for services. Each week we establish a schedule that allows time for one-on-one support from caring adults, group classes to develop life skills, and fun experiences to build community.
