OpenDoor volunteers work in small groups of 6-8 people (a Table) with a woman (friend) who is in recovery from addiction and/or alcoholism. Following training, Tables meet their friend who has recently left treatment, incarceration or diversion court who has been identified as being ready for change. Tables spend an hour a week together sharing their experience, love and friendship. Not only is the friend transformed, but so are the volunteers.
As one volunteer said-
"There is no better gift to yourself than the gift of helping others. OpenDoor allows you to help someone help themselves, making the gift last a lifetime."

Mission Statement
Our mission is to offer HOPE, HELP AND HEALING to women in recovery from addiction. We do this by providing one-year free services (a Table) to help women stay sober and re-build their lives following treatment, and/also incarceration.
Description
OpenDoor is a licensed user of the Open Table model; a model of change that has been successful in transforming lives across the country for almost 20 years.
We recruit and train volunteers to become part of a small group (a Table) to befriend a woman who is in recovery from addiction. Tables meet once a week for one hour to offer love, support, friendship, and guidance.
The uniqueness of our model is that it is NOT one-on-one mentoring. Each Table works as a team of advocates who bring their own life experiences, connections and friendship to the Table.
