Needpedia is designed to do something no one's ever done before, we're making a social media site that will be designed and governed by its users and developer community. We've already developed a number of specialized tools to do this:
-The wiki section lets you list "ideas" for "problems" with "subjects", that's how the process begins.
-Once there's an idea people like, experts start getting invited (or simply hear about the project), and make a layer for experts in their field. -As a developer, that means you; people already have tons of ideas for the site and we haven't even gone public yet. Our hope is to create a community of devs who are excited to work with the users to create the best features they can, to empower citizens globally, and bring people together over the best ideas on Earth.
We're all tired of corporate social media sites trying to manipulate us and sell our data, and even when someone creates an alternative its still got a centralized and 'opaque' design process. But on Needpedia all the algorithms are transparent, and users are even invited to share ideas and collaborate directly with developers, through the layer system.
-There's also a "token system", that lets you drop little hyperscript icons into text in wiki posts to ask questions, leave notes, or start debates.
The larger goal's to create "citizen-expert-coalitions", around all the best ideas, where everyone's welcome to see what the experts are saying, and if there's any objectives they can personally help with.
Needpedia's github is located here: https://github.com/Queuevius/Needpedia
It's programmed in Ruby on Rails, Js, Bootstrap, Yarn, and SCSS. The documentation is located here: https://github.com/Queuevius/Needpedia/wiki/Main-Document-Formatted
Needpedia.org / the production server hasn't been updated in awhile, but our testing / staging server gets updates all the time, and is located here: http://3.140.250.134/
We also made a discord but no one's ever really used it. So far Needpedia's been developed by paid devs, we haven't had a lot of volunteers or community yet. But we're really hoping that can change. If there's anything you need at all, or if you think of any feedback you'd like to provide, you can always reach the site founder at Anthonydunn97202@gmail.com -Please feel free to share ideas you have for problems with Needpedia on Needpedia too, and to add channels and stuff on our discord: https://discord.gg/6jNCVu8W
(We're presently using Trello to list objectives but we're planning on switching to Needpedia after we make a few important updates)

Mission Statement
To build the wiki for all solutions, to any problem, with any thing.
Description
Needpedia's goal is to build the wiki for all possible solutions to any problem, with anything. But more than that, our goal is connect people over the best ideas on Earth. So we also built a social media site, both so that people can use the social media site to collaborate on ideas they like in the wiki section, and so that people can use the wiki section to improve and even govern/democractize the social media section.
