Hi, we're about to try empowering billions of people using a wiki that lets them list all their ideas for any problem, with anything. And the moment we go public we're going to see people share a ton of ideas for improving our own site, as well as how to use tech to improve other things. So our goal is to have at least a dozen devs in our community by then who know how to use the site and are already developing things, even if only at a very relaxed pace. Needpedia lets experts like you create layers to people's posts about ideas, where you and others in your field can chime in on the idea from your perspective. Ideally, once the experts reach any useful conclusions they share them on the public layer to let everyone know if the idea seems feasible, and what they think it would take to accomplish. Just be sure to speak in plain English when you're not on an expert layer so that everyone can participate. As an affiliate of NAAME.org we can also sign off on community service hours too. All contributions are appreciated though we do ask that those trying to learn to code only apply if they’re fairly certain they’ll actually complete something. Needpedia’s codebase is honestly somewhat large and complex so this might not be ideal for beginners. But for those with the skill, and vision it takes to join a project as ambitious as this, it could be a once in a lifetime opportunity. Are you the kind of person who wants to do more with your life than acquire money? If so you've come to the right place. Our mission is to create a wiki for all solutions to all problems, so we can create an organized, systemic way to begin solving problems. In other words our goal is to not just create the official archive for all the best ideas on Earth, but to also provide the world’s best tools for equipping citizens and experts to actually begin collaborating on them. What are we looking for? We are looking for experienced, skilled and passionate individuals to lead the marketing effort with Needpedia. Mind you, we say "marketing" but Needpedia is not a business, it's a humanitarian collective; nonetheless we need someone able to leverage the skills of marketing to promote Needpedia. If you'd like help, we can post ads for volunteers to help you. Or you can look for helpers on your own, whatever works best for you. Ideally in time we’d have a whole group of people interested in marketing. Responsibilities: -Collaborate with leadership and user-community to produce media that showcases high-ranking ideas and projects, to help increase awareness for them and our site. -Assist with fundraising efforts, (generally through Patreon). -Creating and implementing marketing strategies, (on social media sites, college activist groups, and more). -Establish goals and review systems for these goals, (likely involving our users, as Needpedia let's them list ideas for anything, including your own projects and strategies). -Ensure effective external and internal communications including but not limited to: social media channels, news publicity, partnership outreach, and newsletters. -Showcasing the goals and accomplishments of teams and onboarding new marketing focussed volunteers, (newcomers to your team). We are looking for a passionate and reliable individual who has experience in the following: -Creating videos for ads and promotions. -Taking big picture thoughts and formulating them into processes/policy. -Creating a positive culture towards volunteer engagement/team building. -Technical proficiency and creative problem solving. -Reliability and effectiveness. Commitment & Location: We need someone who's interested in staying for at least a year, as changing department leaders can be extremely disruptive. Do you want to help millions of people all over the world make a difference? We've spent years of hard work to provide everyone on Earth with a free open source archive for solutions to any problem, and we're finally almost done producing the software. Now we need help producing video. In all forms. We're currently working to improve our site's homepage video, but we want to make all kinds of other stuff too. The bottom line is that our technology's designed to create enormous positive human impacts, because humanity's never really had an organized, systemic way to approach its problems before. We can expose problems with corrupt govs, politicians, and other institutions while also providing poor people all over the world with info and tools that could change their lives. We need your help to tell these stories and show the world what's becoming possible once we go public with the site this summer. Learning how to use new tech tends to be a little boring, so we need help illuminating the human impact this will have, and possibly also some 'explainer videos' to show them how to use the tech to do different things if you're interested in helping with that. If any side projects like that bore you we can always try to find someone else who's interested in producing them. With all the people we're about to help there's -hopefully- bound to be something for everyone, feel free to contact us with mention of what those, (your interests) are, and what your ideal form of collaboration or contribution looks like. *To understand how this tech can be used to fight covid. If someone see there's an idea for something like a homeless shelter, they can propose providing them with UV lights or air filtration. If co-workers feel there is any kind of threat from Covid at all in their workplace, or beyond, they can post about them as problems on Needpedia, then begin working on ideas with people, (even if they have to promote the post a bit and help get the conversation started).
