Blue Owl Learning currently has a mass surplus of students and needs tutors. You would be tutoring students from all backgrounds, most of them being underprivileged. As a volunteer at Blue Owl Learning, you will be tutoring students between grades K-12 on subjects they'd like to receive help on. Students may need help with homework, specific concepts, or learning new things. As a tutor you're expected to have a deep-understanding on subjects you're willing to tutor, and have strong communication skills to effectively teach new things to students in an online environment. You must be committed to the program and make an active effort to come to sessions that you sign up for. To sign up for the opportunity please visit: https://blueowllearning.org/

Mission Statement

Blue Owl Learning is a nonprofit organization committed to bringing free, virtual tutoring to K-12 students impacted by Covid-19.

Description

Blue Owl Learning is a non-profit organization providing completely free, 1-on-1 virtual tutoring to disadvantaged students. Our tutors range from qualified 9th graders in high school to post-graduate adults looking to make a difference in our community.

We believe education is the greatest tool to bridge the socioeconomic gap in our community, city, and world. Blue Owl Learning is partnered with 8+ local community centers, to which we've provided invaluable educational resources and individualized assistance to each student.

We hope to make our resource accessible to all students who may need it, especially those impacted by COVID-19. To do this, we’re looking for motivated and passionate volunteer tutors willing to help their students gain a deeper understanding of their academic work and to make a difference in their educational lives.
