Virtual Opportunity
Blue Owl Learning currently has a mass surplus of students and needs tutors. You would be tutoring students from all backgrounds, most of them being underprivileged. As a volunteer at Blue Owl Learning, you will be tutoring students between grades K-12 on subjects they'd like to receive help on. Students may need help with homework, specific concepts, or learning new things. As a tutor you're expected to have a deep-understanding on subjects you're willing to tutor, and have strong communication skills to effectively teach new things to students in an online environment. You must be committed to the program and make an active effort to come to sessions that you sign up for.

At BlueOwl learning, the amount of students per session has been increasing, and we need more tutors to handle this. As a n unpaid volunteer intern for us, you would be working on marketing projects to attract committed high schoolers and older to join our organization. You can create flyers, videos, social media posts, etc. to help attract tutors. Interns are expected to be committed and dedicate a couple of hours per week to marketing. This opportunity will last for 6 weeks and you will receive your volunteer hours in return. Interns must bring in at least 6 DEDICATED tutors in their time.

We are a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization that provides completely free, 1-on-1 virtual tutoring to underprivileged and disadvantaged students. As of right now, our organization has over 140+ registered tutors. Our tutors range from qualified 9th graders in high school to post-graduate adults who are looking to make a difference in our community. We believe that education is the greatest tool to bridge the socioeconomic gap in our community, city, and world. So far, Blue Owl Learning is partnered with 6+ local, San Diego community centers, to which we've provided invaluable educational resources and individualized assistance to each student. We hope to make our resource accessible to all the children and teenagers who may need it. To do this, we’re looking for motivated and passionate volunteer tutors who are willing to make a difference in the educational lives of the students they help. At Blue Owl Learning, we value tutors who are committed, patient and take initiative in helping their students gain a deeper understanding of their academic work.
