ORGANIZATION: HarmonyCares Hospice

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

*** Do you like cats, art, and exercise? We have a home hospice patient that loves all three. Find out more! ***

Provide companionship, joy, and comfort to this spunky hospice Patient in Canton South. They love painting and you can enjoy some of their artwork on the walls of their home. You might run across their beloved cat, and they might teach you an exercise move or two. Kidding aside, this independent Patient would enjoy company. They have lots of stories to share and to be enjoyed. Try it.

Volunteer visit time best after 12:00 noon, any day.

We have this immediate need in Canton South, but Grace Hospice has on-going needs in the Akron/Canton and surrounding areas. We'll match you with someone close by, and your requirement commitment is for the amount of time YOU want and have to offer. It's a win-win for everyone! To make this kind of difference, please call Volunteer Coordinator, Johanna, at 330-899-0180.

Description

Hospice is the health care system that mandates the involvement of volunteers. This reflects the history of the hospice movement in the United States, which started as an all-volunteer system.

Hospice is designed to provide comfort care as well as spiritual and emotional support in the final phase of a terminal illness. At HarmonyCares Hospice, we focus on enhancing the quality of life and our Volunteers play a key role in our mission. The hospice philosophy reaches beyond the physical needs of a patient and ensures that a patient spend their final days in comfort and with dignity.

HarmonyCares Hospice volunteers are as diverse as our professional staff. Compassion and caring are the hallmarks of any great hospice volunteer, and their involvement is a vital part of our team.
