FEMA has established a Type 2 Community Vaccination Center (CVC) at the Greenbelt Metro Station. (A Type 2 Center anticipates giving up to 3,000 shots per day.) FEMA has tasked Maryland VOAD to recruit and manage the volunteers needed for the site.

Volunteers are needed daily - 2 shifts per day, 15 volunteers per shift
Mon & Tues 6:30a.m. to 11:a.m.
Mon & Tues 10:30a.m. to 3:00p.m
Wed & Thur 11:30a.m. to 4:00p.m.
Wed & Thurs 3:30p.m. to 8:30p.m.
Fri, Sat & Sun 8:30a.m. to 1:00p.m.
Fri, Sat & Sun 12:30p.m. to 5:30p.m.

  • Access and Functional Needs (AFN)
  • Traffic Flow / Greeter
  • Wellness Check Point
  • Observation

Mission Statement

The purpose of Maryland Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) is to bring together voluntary organizations active in disaster services to foster more effective response to the people of Maryland in times of disaster.

Description

The Maryland VOAD is made up of faith-based, community-based, and other non-governmental organizations that have disaster response as part of their mission. State, County, and Local government agencies participate in MD VOAD as partners. MD VOAD meets quarterly to prepare and plan for a coordinate response when there is a need for disaster response efforts in the State of Maryland by non-governmental entities.
