The purpose of Maryland Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) is to bring together voluntary organizations active in disaster services to foster more effective response to the people of Maryland in times of disaster.
The Maryland VOAD is made up of faith-based, community-based, and other non-governmental organizations that have disaster response as part of their mission. State, County, and Local government agencies participate in MD VOAD as partners. MD VOAD meets quarterly to prepare and plan for a coordinate response when there is a need for disaster response efforts in the State of Maryland by non-governmental entities.
