Southfield Youth Assistance (SYA) is:
- a non-profit 501(c)(3) youth serving prevention organization
- headed by a volunteer "working" Board of Directors
- developing a new strategy to engage youth in community prevention activities
- seeking community engaged members (adults & youth) to become part of the Board
- moving toward developing additional need-based services to benefit youth and families
- sponsored by Oakland County Circuit Court - Family Division, the City of Southfield, and Southfield Public Schools
- WEBSITE SUPPORT - update and enhance the organization’s current Website
- PARTNER DEVELOPMENT - connect to the community to support, sponsor, partner, or host events
- FUNDRAISING INITIATIVES - secure sponsors, implement crowd funding activities, seek raffle items
- SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS - regularly communicate & promote events through Social Media Platforms

The mission of Southfield Youth Assistance is to strengthen youth and families and to reduce the incidences of delinquency, abuse, and neglect through community involvement.
Description
Southfield Youth Assistance (SYA) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) prevention program that focuses on providing services to youth and families in the Southfield and Lathrup Village communities. SYA is sponsored by Oakland County Circuit Court-Family Division, The City of Southfield and Southfield Public Schools.
