The primary purpose of the SYA is the prevention of delinquency and neglect of the youth of the City of Southfield and/or the Southfield School District. The efforts of the SYA shall be in the area of mobilizing community interest and resources in order to develop programs which will be beneficial to safeguarding and improving the physical, mental, emotional, and moral welfare of families and youth in the Southfield Community.
Southfield Youth Assistance (SYA) is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) prevention program that focuses on providing services to youth and their families within the Southfield/Lathrup Village area. We provide short-term counseling services for youth who need additional support at home, school, or within the community, while also engaging them in positive experiences and enhancing their social, academic, and interpersonal skills.
