Position: Bilingual Vietnamese/English Academic Tutors needed for the INSPIRE (In School Program for Immigrant and Refugee Education) program serving Elementary grade-level students.

Program Area:Youth Department/Pacific Islander and Asian Family Center

Location: Remote/Virtual

Schedule: Fridays 3:00-4:00PM

Position Summary: The INSPIRE program seeks dedicated and responsible academic tutors to assist Immigrant and Refugee students with math homework during afterschool hours.

Qualifications:

- Experience with and/or interest in working with youth

- Availability during afterschool hours

- Prior tutoring or teaching experience useful, but not required

- Commitment to working with diverse populations and non-native English speakers

Time Commitment: Volunteers must commit to working a minimum of 1-2 hours per week for at least 8 weeks for each term.

Age Requirement: 18+

  • 1-2 hours per week. Tutoring sessions are on Friday afternoons 3:00-4:00PM PST.
  • Remote tutors will have the opportunity to meet with other tutors and IRCO staff on a monthly basis for check-in meetings.
