Our challenge
Our vision is a world where brain tumours are defeated, and we believe this will only happen through great research.
One way we share the excellent global research we’re funding is with our dedicated research grant webpages. These pages are where our donors come to see the work they’re helping support, and where people with brain tumours come for hope for better treatments.
How can you help?
Currently, we have links to our grant pages spread over multiple areas of the website . This means that when it’s time to update any grant details it’s difficult to ensure we change all the links.
By doing a review of our grant pages you’ll be helping to ensure that we give our community the most up-to-date vision of the research that is going on right now.
We’re looking for:
For this role we’re seeking someone:
- With internet access, and confidence navigating websites,
- Who thrives on attention to detail especially in proofreading
- Potentially with experience in working with a website’s CMS.
Practical considerations
In order to volunteer with us you must be 18 years or older, and your recruitment will be subject to reference checks.
You will receive a full induction to The Brain Tumour Charity and your role as well as ongoing support from our Research Communications Manager.
We estimate that this project could be accomplished in about 15 hours, depending on your proofreading speed.
We are flexible about the hours that this is accomplished and are happy to work around other commitments a volunteer might have.
We particularly encourage applications from those who are significantly underrepresented in our sector, including individuals from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities.
What’s in it for you?
By helping us to identify the parts of the website that need updating you’ll help us to share the most accurate research information with our community. Those people who are relying on research for hope of a cure in the future, for themselves or their loved ones.
This role will also help you understand the breadth of the research we fund at The Brain Tumour Charity and the reason we are the largest brain tumour specific research funder, globally.
