Reporting to: MGAC Executive Director and/or President

The Volunteer Coordinator helps recruit & supervises volunteers and provides direction, coordination and consultation for all volunteer functions within the Maple Grove Arts Center to help strengthen gallery and education programs and involve a community of supporters as described in the duties outlined below. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for scheduling all volunteers needs for gallery hours, special classes and events.

The Volunteer Coordinator will develop, promote and maintain a wide range of volunteer opportunities within the organization. Recruitment, interviewing and placement of volunteers will be a vital part of this role. Providing ongoing support, training and guidance for volunteers will be key. Creation and distribution of various communication tools and publications will need to be created and maintained.

Tasks and Responsibilities include:

  • Identify community outreach opportunities such as fairs, festivals, local markets and organizations
  • Maintain schedule of opportunities
  • Work proactively with other staff to provide accurate information and assistance to the volunteers and gallery visitors
  • Develop and oversee program budget
  • Remain current in general office technology
  • Train volunteers to use office and specialized equipment when appropriate
  • Handle telephone, voicemail, written, and email inquiries for information regarding
  • Develop, promote, and maintain a wide range of volunteer opportunities within the organization
  • Recruit, interview and place applicants for volunteer work
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance for volunteers
  • Create and distribute various communications and publications
  • Other ad-hoc duties as they occur

Housing both gallery and studio space with a sought after downtown Maple Grove location, the Maple Grove Arts Center has been serving and sharing art with its community since 2009.

Several community groups utilize our space for meetings and shows. We have classes for children, seniors, beginning, intermediate and beyond!

MGAC has 6 -7 gallery shows per year. This gives our member and artist's many chances to exhibit and share their work.

  • Orientation or Training
  • 3-5 hours a week, might be a little more when training new volunteers. Most of this role can be performed at home.
