Role Summary

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, organizing, and managing volunteers to support the programs and events of the Maple Grove Arts Center. This role involves fostering a welcoming environment for volunteers, ensuring they are properly trained, and recognizing their contributions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit and onboard new volunteers to meet the needs of the arts center’s programs and events.
  • Develop and maintain a database of volunteers, tracking availability, skills, and participation.
  • Coordinate volunteer assignments and schedules for events, classes, and projects.
  • Updating website hours of operations each week. (Squarespace)
  • Making and monitoring volunteer sign-up sheets. (SignUp Genius)
  • Provide orientation and training for volunteers to ensure they understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Act as the main point of contact for volunteers, addressing questions, concerns, and feedback.
  • Recognize and celebrate the contributions of volunteers through thank-you initiatives, awards, or special events.
  • Collaborate with staff and leadership to identify volunteer needs and align them with the organization’s goals.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures to create a safe and supportive environment for all volunteers.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the volunteer program, providing suggestions for improvement.

Ideal Candidate

  • Enthusiastic about the arts and community involvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • A proactive and positive attitude, with the ability to inspire and motivate volunteers.
  • Previous experience in volunteer coordination or program management is a plus but not required.

To become highly visible, vibrant and financially stable organization, offering quality art, education and art appreciation with extensive community participation, outreach and patron involvement.

Housing both gallery and studio space with a sought after downtown Maple Grove location, the Maple Grove Arts Center has been serving and sharing art with its community since 2009.

Several community groups utilize our space for meetings and shows. We have classes for children, seniors, beginning, intermediate and beyond!

MGAC has 6 -7 gallery shows per year. This gives our member and artist's many chances to exhibit and share their work.
