WULUWThe purpose of the WULUW initiative is to support and promote gender/social inclusion by increasing the number of women leaders in urban water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).
WULUW’s mentors and mentees have the opportunity to build life-long nourishing relationships. WULUW will mobilize a generation of mentors to help build the pipeline of women in WASH leadership. We will help women overcome even personal fears, overcome gender barriers, provide resources and equipment for sustainable leadership, and teach skills to mentees so that they may one day become mentors. For this, role models/mentors are critical.
WULUW also includes women communicating with male leaders to navigate the politics of leadership. This helps shift the culture so that the male-oriented workspace becomes a place with balanced leadership/ organizational change approaches - from which both women and men benefit.
WULUW Mentor ROCKBlue has an immediate opening for a volunteer WULUW Mentor. This person will be working remotely/virtually.
Description
Broadly, the ideal mentor would have skills and experience in a similar role on past assignments and/or in her personal life. This is a part-time position (approximately 4-5 hours/week) with an initial period of 2 months to determine if it works for both ROCKBlue and the candidate. If it appears to be a positive working relationship then the assignment would be continued indefinitely.
You will also have an opportunity to learn management software tools such as Trello, Clockify, Slack, G-Suite/Google Drive, etc. This is an exciting position as it will avail the candidate to both senior-level management as well as the humanitarian work that we do and with our partners from all over the world. The work includes:
Anticipated Activities- Overall collaborative contributions to the WULUW initiative and ROCKBlue as a whole
- Updates to the WULUW manager on progress with your mentee
- Help the WULUW initiative reach its objectives
- Regular engagement with mentee(s) on their path to becoming a leader in WASH

ROCKBlue focuses on strengthening the ability of water and sanitation utilities to provide these services to the poorest in cities and towns across the developing world.
ROCKBlue accomplishes this mission through respectful and mutually beneficial partnerships with both public utilities in the developing world and with the international donors and lenders supporting these utilities.
