ORGANIZATION: Volunteers of America Northern Colorado Services

Caring Companion 4

Are you eager to give back to your community? Become a Caring Companion and connect with families in Estes Park!

Caring Companion volunteers visit with an older neighbor once a week, offering companionship while giving family caregivers a chance to rest. Volunteer activities can range from taking walks, reading, listening to music, chatting, creating art, or other activities the older person might enjoy.

  • One caregiver commented recently: "Our volunteer has been wonderful. She almost feels like family. I absolutely love Caring Companions and I tell everyone about them."
  • Another said: "My husband really enjoys the weekly visits with our volunteer and looks forward to the socialization, which he doesn't get normally."

VOA provides orientation and ongoing training for our volunteers, and only requires a few visiting hours a week. If you are looking for a flexible and meaningful volunteer experience, this is it!
