RRRcomputer.org

RRRcomputer.org is a Bay Area non-profit that promotes digital inclusion by repurposing computing devices for students in need. The organization not only refurbishes computers for students but also equips them with digital literacy and coding skills to further bridge the digital divide. RRRcomputer.org is currently looking for an Education Curriculum Lead to help shape the education we offer. The organization is interested in expanding its technical development offerings; some ideas include a series of classes on Online Safety, Introductory Coding, Scratch for Kids, Day in the Life series, and more. You will be helping build a set of curriculum that the organization can reuse.

Part of your work may involve:
* finding sources of volunteers who can help teach the curriculum you help design
* moderating classes
* streamlining strategy execution.
We welcome you to step in as a teaching volunteer, too, on topics you can teach.

You will collaborate directly with the Board of Directors in Secondary Education, who currently oversees operations. To see some of our previous virtual Technical Development Summer Series classes, check out the "Past Event" in https://www.eventbrite.com/ o/rrrcomputerorg-reclaim- refurbish-reuse-8011238850. All events are virtual for the time being.

About RRRcomputer.org

Location:

1410 Franklin St. #300, San Francisco, CA 94109, US

Mission Statement

Promote digital inclusion by repurposing computing devices for the next generation.

Description

We aim to change the corporate culture of waste and indifference to one the cares about our future. We take broken, used computers from companies and refurbish them to donate to students throughout the bay area, free of charge. We also provide free coding and technology literacy courses to children.

Please visit RRRcomputer.org for detailed info on our goals. Please feel free to contact us at 1-844-900-RRRC or donate@RRRcomputer.org. Please spread the word with your social media. With your help, we all can help bridge the digital divide one kid at a time.

We are looking for volunteer leaders from the IT, Education, and Environmental professions to help make our organization a success. We are also looking for students from high schools, colleges and universities who want to make a difference in a kid's life by offering expertise in computer technology, education, and saving the environment. It takes a village to raise a kid; it also takes a community to help a kid in need catch up with the digital age.
