Grocery box packing and distribution in Pacoima
El Nido Family Centers
Have some free time and want to help nourish the community? El Nido Family Centers is looking for volunteers for our Culinary To-Go program. We feed 40-50 families a week with our grocery boxes and accompanying recipes designed for families to cook healthy meals together during our interactive, online classes.
We have one on-site and one remote opportunity:
Onsite Grocery Box Packing:
Monday or Tuesday 9am-12pm: Help pack grocery boxes for 40-50 families.
Thursday 11am-2pm: Portioning ingredients for the grocery boxes of the coming week.
Everything takes place in a socially-distanced environment, at our Pacoima FamilySource Center kitchen in the north San Fernando Valley.
Virtual Client Support for Grocery Box Distribution (Livescan Fingerprint test required):
We need assistance with calling prospective clients and telling them about our support program, collecting testimonials, as well as remote texting to follow-up with clients and remind them that their grocery boxes are ready for pick-up.
