During these uncertain times, how can we help?

Danbury Westerners Baseball Club
The Westerners are an all-volunteer organization founded in 1995. The team is composed of college baseball players from all over the USA and plays in the New England Collegiate Baseball League. We play a 44 game schedule in June and July against teams from all six New England States. 23 former Westerners have played Major League Baseball and 260 former Westerners have played in the minor leagues.
We also bring in 14 college and high school students each summer in our internship program. Many of our interns have gone on to careers in sports.
The Publicity Manager will oversee keeping Westerner fans and followers up to date on all things related to the team through traditional media such as newspaper and radio. The Publicity Manager will also speak on behalf of the Westerners to groups such as service organizations and bring attention to the organization through other means as may be appropriate. This is a year-round volunteer activity.
We need a person willing to volunteer some time on a frequent basis, who knows and loves baseball, and who is willing to learn about the team, it’s mission and it’s history. Connections with members of traditional media are helpful but not required.
The reward will be spending time with likeminded people and contributing to the success of an organization that entertains local baseball fans and helps young people develop on and off the field.
