Women Build is a week of global events that provide an opportunity for women to take a proactive step in serving their communities. Women Build empowers women to help families build strength, stability, and independence through advocacy, investment, or construction. Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County (HFHNCC) invites volunteers to participate in our virtual Women Build to raise awareness about the challenges of accessing safe and affordable housing solutions. Men are welcome to participate but we aim to achieve a 50% female participation rate.
Record a DIY home project and(or) life hack that has saved you time and money. This video recording will be shared on social media outlets during 2021 International Women Build Week (March 8 - March 15).
Requirements
- Projects should be cost effective.
- Projects can appeal to all skill levels (be mindful of beginners when providing content).
- Project videos must be submitted to HFHNCC staff for review.
- Volunteers must be willing to share final video of their project on their own social media platforms
- If recording DIY project outside of your home or family circle, follow State COVID-19 guidelines.
- When recording DIY projects, be mindful of safety requirements such as safety glasses and safety features with tools.
- Do not mention any hardware store by name unless it is Lowe's.

Description
Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County is a volunteer-driven organization. We welcome people from all walks of life to join us as we build simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with families in need. By working side-by-side with the family who will live in the house, our volunteers experience the joy of helping a family to realize their dream of homeownership.
Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County offers both volunteer construction opportunities as well as non-construction opportunities: such as providing lunches for construction volunteers, working in the ReStore, or serving on a committee.
