Big Apple Greeter ( bigapplegreeter.org), a New York City-based nonprofit, is seeking a Social Media & Marketing Associate to lead the expansion of the organization’s digital presence.
The associate will:
Expand and manage Big Apple Greeter’s social media program by writing, posting and responding on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and other appropriate channels
Grow the organization’s social media following
Use and improve our social media management system, Hootsuite
Create graphics for social media using Canva or a similar program
Attend and participate in monthly Volunteer Leadership meetings
Regularly measure effectiveness of the social media campaigns
Assist in gathering meaningful content
Write occasional blog posts and website copy
Participate in management of Google AdWords
The associate will collaborate with Big Apple Greeter staff and volunteers on a regular basis and will play a key role on our communications team. A major in marketing, communications or public relations is strongly preferred and/or experience managing business or nonprofit social media campaigns. A minimum six-month commitment is required. Big Apple Greeter will work with the selected candidate to obtain school credit if the candidate is utilizing this as an internship.
