Do you LOVE cats? Want to make a difference?
We need Cat Caretakers to help maintain the cat habitat in order to get cats out of the shelter.

Can you commit for at least an hour a week for 3 months?

We need volunteers for approximately 1 hour shifts during the following times. You can volunteer as often as you can.

Morning Shifts: M-S 7am to 9am Sun 8am to 10am
Evening Shifts: M-S 6pm - 9pm Sun 6pm to 8pm

Duties include:

  • Socializing, playing with, petting, and cuddling cats and kittens
  • Scooping litter boxes
  • Changing and filing water and food dishes
  • Cleaning and wiping down cages
  • Changing bedding
  • Sweeping kennels, and cattery floor
  • Sanitizing kennels

Mission Statement

Pflugerville Pets Alive helps pets in and around Pflugerville, TX. We work to * support and promote animal welfare issues focusing on the City of Pflugerville * educate the public on animal welfare issues * follow and stress the philosophies of the No Kill Advocacy center, including Low Cost spay and neutering.

Description

Pflugerville Pets Alive! (APA!) is becoming a 501(c) 3 (nonprofit) organization run exclusively by volunteers.

We will work on innovation and programs to create and maintain a no-kill community for the pets of Pflugerville.

We are currently focused on helping the healthy and treatable pets of Pflugerville find safe and healthy homes, establishing programs that benefit the pets in the shelter, and informing the community of Pflugerville that they can come home to shop and find their next pet at the Pflugerville Animal Shelter.

Our Top 2018 Goals

  • Provide training and/or boarding to dogs that need basic manners or a break from the stress at the shelter
  • Assist Pflugerville Animal Control in maintaining their part in No Kill Central Texas
  • Continue to learn and implement activities and programs learned from Open Admission No Kill shelters and American Pets Alive
  • Provide a weather resistant bulletin board to display lost pets in the shelter
  • Provide certificates for Spaying and Neutering of pets
  • Provide additional microchip clinics
