Mentoring-Small-Group

In our Northern California coastal counties minority, women, and veteran entrepreneurs face unique barriers to business success. At North Coast SCORE, we’re working to change that by removing those obstacles and providing personalized support to everyone who has an idea and a desire to succeed in business. SCORE mentoring is free and confidential.

As a mentor you will use your business knowledge and experience to help local clients solve problems, increase business efficiency, and assist with developing long-term business plans. Mentors often have significant experience within their field, excellent communication skills, and the ability to dedicate a few hours a week.

As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you would use your specific industry and functional expertise to provide specialized support and advice to assist clients and their SCORE mentor with topics needing a deeper dive.

Topics where minority, women, and veteran-owned businesses need support include (but are not limited to): government contracting, minority business enterprise certification, finance, accounting, human resources management, website design, development and maintenance, social media and digital marketing skills, taxation and specialized finance skills, IT infrastructure and cloud computing understanding and advice.

If you have a few hours per month and want to share your specialized expertise with a local entrepreneurs and small business owners, become a North Coast SCORE Mentor or Subject Matter Expert. Go to score.org to volunteer.
