Today’s small business owners must master many functions to drive greater success and accelerate growth - from building world-class websites to leveraging the power of social media and implementing cloud computing. As part of SCORE’s free mentoring services, you can work directly with an experienced SCORE mentor and their entrepreneur clients to support very specialized areas of small business. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you would be called in to provide support and advice to assist a SCORE small business or entrepreneur client succeed. Areas where specialized SME services are needed include (but are not limited to): finance, accounting, human resources management, website design, development, and webmaster skills; social media and digital marketing skills; taxation and specialized finance skills; IT infrastructure and cloud computing understanding and advice. North Coast SCORE, which operates in Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, Lake, and Humboldt Counties in Northern California, has an opportunity for one or more volunteers to re-establish a robust and active business training / workshop program in our service area. We need individuals to organize both live and video workshops aimed at small business owners and entrepreneurs. There is a large and expanding amount of material to draw from. The library is created by SCORE nationally in addition to locally created courses. The workshops ideally are presented in both English and Spanish. If you are looking for an opportunity to foster a successful small business community through financial and managerial education of entrepreneurs, this is right for you. A North Coast SCORE mentor / advisor is a volunteer consultant who helps individuals and small businesses reach their goals.
