Being a caregiver to a loved one at the end of life is a stressful job. With Covid-19 complicating matters, stress has taken on new meaning. Join the volunteers of Gateway Hospice and provide relief to a caregiver.

Caregiver Relief Services offers opportunity for a caregiver to take time for themselves. Having a volunteer as part of the care team allows time to run errands, attend to personal appointments, take a walk or a catch a needed nap.

Gateway Hospice Volunteer Services is looking for a few special individuals in the Washington area who want to join our team and support patients and families during this time of crisis.

We provide training, PPE and other safety measures to keep you healthy while visiting hospice patients in their homes.

About Gateway Hospice

9380 McKnight Road, Arcadia Court, Suite 201, Pittsburgh, PA 15237, US

Mission Statement

"To provide quality end of life carethrough listening and education and responding to the needs of those we serve, our community and team."

Gateway Hospice volunteers are the heart of our organization. Volunteers do a variety of different things that help promote our mission of providing quality end of life care. From providing a listening ear as a companion volunteer, to providing respite for the caregiver to go grocery shopping or to their own medical appointment, to managing special projects in our North Hills office as "behind the scenes" support. Volunteers also can get involved with our bereavement program, making phone calls to bereaved family and friends. Music and art are a powerful way volunteers can connect with our patients, especially those with dementia. Pets are welcomed to pay friendly visits to our patients residing in nursing homes. The possibilities go on and on.
