The Membership Communication Specialist supports the organization’s membership growth and engagement program. In conjunction with the Director of Membership Development, this position will be responsible for organizing membership activities, creating membership packages and content, and supporting membership relations and activities.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements membership communications e.g. emails, newsletters, event promotions, etc.
  • Supports and helps drive membership engagement and programs
  • Manages membership databases and relations
  • Effectively responds to member comments/feedback in accordance with HHP standards, policies, and rules
  • Uses ideas, feedback, and suggestions to continuously improve the services provided to members
  • Administer Membership Team tasks; agenda, meeting minutes, and metrics

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in communications and/or membership strategy development
  • Experience and knowledge in copywriting, proofreading, and editing
  • Excellent portfolio with a proven track record of successful examples
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly computer literate with capability in Google Workspace (Google Sheets, Docs, etc.), and related business and communication tools
  • Content writing and development experience for all media platforms
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to HHP’s mission.
  • Strategic, collaborative, and creative mindset
  • Meticulous attention to detail
