The Alzheimer's Association is looking for enthusiastic planning committee members for the 2021 Colorado Springs Walk to End Alzheimer's.

The Colorado Springs Walk to End Alzheimer's Planning Committee is a group of enthusiastic, energetic, go-getters who are passionate about the Alzheimer's Association's mission. The Walk to End Alzheimer's is the Associations largest fundraising event, held nationally in over 600 communities. Our goal is to raise funds to ultimately find a cure for Alzheimer's Disease while spreading awareness about the programs and services offered at no charge to the professionals, friends, and families that are already on an Alzheimer's journey.

The Walk Planning committee is volunteer lead and staff supported. We have returning members of the committee and are seeking additional individuals interested in leadership roles as well as members at large and "day of" event volunteers.

A Walk Planning Committee members activities might include the following:

  • Attending monthly committee meetings (in person and/or virtual)
  • Making phone calls to both current and past participants
  • Writing thank-you notes
  • Reaching out to personal and professional connections to recruit participants and sponsors
  • Assistance with the marketing of the event
  • Participating on the Walk social media pages
  • Starting a fundraising team

The local Alzheimer's Association staff partner will support you throughout the season and will be happy to tailor your volunteer experience around your interests, skills, and schedule. Please Note: We are currently 100% remote.

  • Enjoying connecting with people in the community
  • Enthusiasm for the cause
  • Passionate about ending Alzheimer's and all dementia
  • Creativity
  • Comfortable talking on the phone

Monthly commitment:

Approximately 2-3 hours per month.

This will vary depending on the month as we get closer to the event. While the Walk is scheduled for October 2, we fundraise year-round. Most volunteer opportunities will begin in February and go through November 2021.

Whether we’re together at a large in-person gathering or walking in small groups in our individual neighborhoods, we can make a difference!

The health and safety of our constituents, staff, and volunteers will continue to be our top priority as we assess the changing status of the pandemic and make a decision about how we’ll walk in 2021.

*Volunteering will not actually take place at the address listed. We are looking for volunteers nearby the address to join our committee! Connect with Charlotte Long about this opportunity.
