Bereavement Volunteers

Become trained to be a Bereavement Volunteer at Heartland Hospice. The bereaved need to be listened to and have their feelings validated after the loss of a loved one. Help assist someone through the journey of the grief process. Be a caring, thoughtful listener and help someone in their healing process. Help make phone calls to bereaved families.

Orientation and on-going training provided! Background and reference check required. Volunteer must be at least 18 with reliable transportation.

Counties Served: Richmond City, Chesterfield, Henrico, Goochland, Hanover, New Kent, Powhatan, Colonial Heights City, Hopewell City, Petersburg City, Louisa, Amelia, Caroline, Cumberland, Dinwiddie, King and Queen, King William, Prince George.

Other things to know:
2x/week preferred.

We'll work with your schedule. We offer other volunteer opportunities.

Heartland Hospice is recruiting for many ways to engage with our clients, who are facing terminal diagnosis, sometimes with family and caregivers, and other times our clients face these diagnoses alone. Our clients, staff, and volunteer’s health and safety are our utmost concerns always. We have many ways for volunteers to engage and change the lives of our patients. Description

Heartland Hospice is recruiting for volunteers to provide friendly visits and caregiver relief/respite sitting for terminally ill patients and their families. We have many ways for volunteers to engage and change the lives of our patients. If you have the heart for it, we welcome your willingness to serve.
