Looking for volunteers to encourage our hospice patients and their families throughout the Treasure Valley. Opportunities include: visiting with patients, companion and respite visits to patients and families, administrative and office work, delivering flowers to patients monthly, handwritten notes of encouragement monthly, mailing patient educations monthly, phone calls to patients for follow up or bereavement, bereavement mailings, etc.
What do you love to do? Do you have a talent or passion you want to share? Do you sew or craft or play an instrument? There are so many ways we can take what you love to do and turn it into an opportunity to encourage patients and families in the process of hospice care.
We currently have patients throughout Ada and Canyon County and beyond. We have urgent needs for volunteers in the areas of:
*patient in home visits in Canyon County/Ada County (this involves being matched with a patient/family that you would visit on a regular basis 2-4x's/month depending on your availability)
*deliveries to patients throughout the Treasure Valley on a monthly basis (once a month volunteers deliver gifts/flowers to patients, this involves driving from house to house and delivering the gifts)
*phone calls to patients, caregivers, and bereaved families (this involves calling patients and caregivers 1-2x/mo to check in and see if they have needs, calling families of those who have passed to see if they are receiving all the bereavement services they need from us)
If the "urgent needs" don't apply from you but you would still like to volunteer, please do reach out to me! I can use volunteers in ALL areas ongoing so don't not reach out to me just because you aren't able to fill the urgent needs. We will take all the volunteers we can get! We love our volunteers and I try very hard to find ways for you to help that will be meaningful to you!
