Take Trips Mentally, Emotionally, and Spiritually is looking for a photographer to take pictures within New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut. We are looking for images to post to our website and newsletter to bring awarness to the challenges incarcerated youths face and Take Trips MES's efforts to reduce the recidivisim rate. Volunteers for this position must be willing to travel to photo locations and have access to the necessary photography equipment.

Mission Statement

Take Trips MES (Mentally, Emotionally, Spiritually) will work tirelessly to ensure that incarcerated and detention youth of color will benefit from adequate aftercare programs and services once they have been released from the system.

Description

TTMES stands for "Take Trips Mentally, Emotionally, Spiritually."

As the recidivism rate among youth continues to rise, we must ask ourselves, "how do we deal with negative starts that don't steer us to positive travels?"

When youth of color are released from incarceration or detention centers, they often lack adequate support systems, care, and guidance. TTMES is here to remove the many barriers that prevent positive outcomes. We aim to empower youth of color and provide the tools necessary to heal from the damage of the incarceration system. We are committed to healing the hurt and providing the foundation that they need to succeed.
