The Rescue Mission operates Monday - Friday, with two shifts, 10am - 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 3:30pm.

Volunteers can be expected to help unload delivery trucks, organize food and assembly grocery bags in the morning. In the afternoon volunteers prepare hot to-go dinner meals and distribute them to the community at 2pm inside and 3pm out the door. The Rescue Mission food bank is our most direct community program in terms of contact with Tenderloin residents and so you may come across individuals that aren't practicing correct COVID-19 protocols. City Impact follows CDC guidelines and requires our volunteers to do so as well.

About San Francisco City Impact

Location:

230 JONES ST, SAN FRANCISCO, CA 94102, US

Mission Statement

To holistically heal and transform this community through two types of work: urgent relief works and preventive works. The urgent relief works such as feeding, clothing, healing, housing and rescuing are works that must be available for those in crisis. The preventive works of educating, counseling, training and spiritual discipleship will ensure that the cycles of poverty and despair will not be repeated.

Description

City Impact has been serving the city of San Francisco since 1981. We have a strong belief and desire to see the city of San Francisco be transformed by impacting its worst district. The Tenderloin District is one square mile filled with 37,000 residents who live in 586 apartment buildings. Several thousand homeless pass through the Tenderloin daily.

We are a Christian organization that works with volunteers of many religious backgrounds and we believe that one personal can make all the difference in the life of a person in need. Here, we have mutliple departments to reach people of all ages and situations.
