Chapter Committee Member (Volunteer Role)
At ChickTech, we believe every girl and woman has the right to fulfill their true potential.
ChickTech is a national nonprofit dedicated to retaining womxn (female-identifying, non-binary and transgender women) in the technology workforce and increasing the number of womxn pursuing technology-based careers through signature programs for K-12 students and career level adults. The overarching goal of ChickTech is to increase diversity and inclusion within the technology culture through broadening the pipeline of underrepresented populations entering careers through non-traditional pathways, and increasing retention of these populations through a supportive community focused on enhancing career, leadership, inclusion, and engagement within and beyond the workplace. By building and enhancing an intergenerational community, ChickTech is ensuring companies can find untapped talent from diverse communities across the country while also building skills and interest for future generations to excel and create a diverse tech workforce.
We are looking for Chapter Committee Members for the local ChickTech chapter. Local committees may include Operations, Development/Fundraising, High School Programs, ACT-W Programs, or Marketing/Communications. Committee members work with the local leadership team to fulfill committee tasks in order to move the organization mission forward on a local level. Committee members will have the opportunity to join the corresponding national committee to build connections and support with other ChickTech chapters across the country.
The perfect candidate for a Committee member role is someone that is trustworthy, responsible, has previous experience as a volunteer or working with volunteers, is detail-oriented, and has a passion for empowering womxn. They will work closely with the entire local chapter leadership team and selected committee to ensure needs are met across the chapter or national committee.
Note: This is an unpaid volunteer position with options to work remotely.
Did you know that women are typically less likely to apply for positions if they don’t think they meet each desired skill? That’s not us - we encourage everyone to apply and commit to working with each volunteer to develop and build these skills to support your professional development!
