Lend a Hand! Household tasks, meal prep and Errand Volunteers Needed to assist hospice patients.
Thank you for considering volunteering with Encompass Health - Hospice, formerly Alacare!
We are looking for volunteers to assist hospice patients at their homes in Marshall County, to provide companionship and/or help with small household tasks, meal preparation, yard work or run to errands.
NO medical experience needed, volunteers DO NOT perform "hands on" care. By being there, you will also give patients support through socialization and companionship. Volunteer commitment is flexible to volunteer’s schedule. Volunteers are welcome to provide assistance during the day, after hours, or on weekends. All training and orientation is provided free of charge by Encompass Hospice. The Volunteer Coordinator will mentor volunteers until they comfortable and confident to volunteer independently.
Direct Patient Support Volunteers must complete the application and orientation processes and be over the age of 14. All Jr. Volunteers ages 14 to 18 must complete all training, background screenings and trained parent and/or guardian must accompany Jr. Volunteers. Most of the orientation process can be completed online or via phone. Additionally reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and other requirements apply. If you think this is something you would enjoy please contact me! I look forward to hearing from you today!
